The Phillies first baseman asked for $18 million in arbitration Tuesday, the third-highest figure submitted since the process began in 1974.

Phils and Werth Come to Terms

The World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies (god I love saying that) came to terms with outfielder Jayson Werth by agreeing to a two-year contract.  Werth will be paid $10 million over the length of the contract — $3 million in 2009 and $7 million in 2010.

Elton Brand to Return to the Sixers on Saturday

Elton Brand’s long-awaited return to the Philadelphia 76ers will be on hold until at least Saturday.

Phillies ink Madson to 3 Year Deal

McNabb’s Arizona Home Vandalized

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed a report on Yahoo yesterday that “Go Cards” and similar messages were burned into the front lawn of Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb’s home in Chandler, Ariz., at some point last week.

Boldin Feels Much Better, Will Play Sunday
