Pitchers and catchers report to sunny Florida tomorrow, and it looks one more pitcher will be in attendance.
Kris Benson is reportedly close to signing a deal with the Phillies. As of yesterday, a deal was said to be anywhere from 24-48 hours away. So, look for Benson to be inked by the end of the day or tomorrow sometime.
Benson, who is 33, has a career record of 68-73 and an ERA of 
4.34. He didn’t pitch in 2007 due to injury, but in 2006, went 11-12 with a 4.82 ERA for the Orioles. Benson was a former No. 1 draft pick of the Pirates.
Oh and then there’s Kris’ wife, Anna Benson. She surely will make the 2008 season a good one to watch.
