Golden State Gets OTHER Williams

The New Jersey Nets have traded point guard Marcus Williams to the Golden State Warriors for a future first-round draft pick, sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday.

Hopefully this acquisition of a young and talented PG will nix the interest the Golden State Warriors are said to have in Lou Williams, the 76ers backup point guard.  In my opinion the 76ers NEED to re-sign Lou Will and Andre Iguodala in order to keep their contention hopes alive in the East.

A surprising move by the Warriors. I thought that they were going to acquire Lou Williams who has been balling in Summer League but Marcus Williams will allow the Warriors to move Monte Ellis to the Shooting Guard. We’ll see how Marcus does with us…

  2. I like it for the Warriors and I especially like the fact Lou Will isnt going anywhere… yet that is.

Like you said Monta will be the feature guard at the 2 now and Marcus finally gets a shot to run a team. I’ve always liked Marcus Williams out of college, he just never saw the court behind J Kidd and then Devin Harris. I think he can be really good given ample PT.

Marcus Williams is a great passer. Plus he was born in California from LA just like Baron Davis. So he must be very happy for this kind of opportunity. Marcus has a great chance to be the starting point guard for the GS Warriors for the whole year. It’s time for him to make those teams pay that passed up on him on draft night. http://nbainsidestuff.wordpress.com/2007/12/07/marcus-williams-the-next-nba-superstar/
