76ers: Could Rush Be Next?

According to a story by the Intelligencer’s Tom Moore:

The Sixers roster is nearing completion. After officially signing fifth-year guard Royal Ivey on Monday the Sixers are now said to be close to a deal with sixth-year swingman Kareem Rush.

That would bring the roster to 12 players under contract after adding Rush (counting restricted free agents Andre Iguodala and Lou Williams).

As for Rush a 6-6, 215-pound SG; he hit a career-best 38.9 percent of his 3-pointers last season while averaging 8.3 points and 21.2 minutes for the Indiana Pacers.

The 27-year-old Rush is expected to sign for the sixth-year minimum of $926,678.

  1. Kareem Rush would be yet another quality upgrade to the 76ers roster. Under the leadership of Ed Stefanski and the coaching of Mo Cheeks, Philly is constructing a very solid team. If Brand can stay healthy, expect them to continue their gradual rise in the Eastern Conference.

  2. Completely agree Khandor. I look for the Sixers to be a scary surprise in the East.

  3. Jim Stark

Anybody know who is that #5 Knick on the picture above with Kareem?

  4. I think its Temple alum Mardy Collins.

  5. He was #25, but it appears his arm is blocking the ‘2’.
